Atlanta Nonprofit Raises over $41,000 dollars for Prostate Cancer with 8th Annual Father’s Day Weekend run4DAD 5k Race / 1 Mile Walk / kids4DAD Event

170420-run4DAD-Primo-bannerAtlanta, GA, May 8, 2017 – In support of its mission to educate, support and encourage men to make healthier lifestyle choices to prevent disease, Men’s Health & Wellness was pleased to join a local organization, ProstAware, to present the 8th annual run4DAD 5k Race / 1 Mile Walk / kids4DAD event that happened on Saturday, June 17, 2017.

This year’s race was again dedicated to former Men’s Health & Wellness Executive Director, Joe Blumberg, who lost his battle with prostate cancer in December 2015.  Joe was the dedicated organizer of the original Father’s Day race, formerly known as the Dash4Dad through a previous partnership with the ZERO Prostate organization.  Joe often spoke about his journey with the disease and the importance of raising awareness for men.  Along with Men’s Health & Wellness’s new partnership with ProstAware, they have rebranded the race—run4DAD—but remained committed to their mission and message to bring awareness and education to men and their families to defeat prostate cancer.

Jeff and Lynn Bostic were the Honorary Chairpersons for this year’s race.  Jeff was a famed member of the Washington Redskins “HOGS” offensive line and is a 3-time Super Bowl Champion.  Jeff is also a prostate cancer survivor.

294 runners participated in this event dedicated to maintaining patient education and support programs here in Georgia.

This year’s run4DAD was supported by the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute, 11 Alive, Georgia Urology, UPS, Radiotherapy Clinics of Georgia, Kapp Koncepts, AbbVie, Costco and Home Depot, among others. Thanks to this amazing support of companies and all of the people who participated, we are pleased to announce that run4DAD collected a total of $41,445 dollars in the battle to find a cure for prostate cancer.
