At ProstAware, (“Prostate cancer
awareness through music and technology”) we’ve dedicated
ourselves to educating the Atlanta area about prostate health
and how everyone can participate in the battle against prostate
cancer:
• Encouraging men in the Atlanta
area to monitor their prostate health
• Provide a centralized resource for prostate cancer awareness
• Promote education and awareness through our annual Blue
Ties event, local speaking engagements and other Atlanta area
health programs |

ProstAware follows a different path
to engaging men and their loved ones in the discussion about watching
out for prostate cancer. By tapping into the dynamic, exciting
and imagination-rich worlds of music and technology, we give people
an enjoyable, new way to open their minds to ProstAware’s
important messages.
Our perspective separates ProstAware from other organizations:
• Because we’re non-partisan,
we don’t channel our resources toward government advocacy.
• Because of our focus on the greater Atlanta area, we
channel our attention to local audiences, local issues, and
local needs.
• Because we’re committed solely to prostate cancer
awareness, we don’t operate expensive medical research
and treatment programs.
• Because we want to be as inclusive and balanced as possible,
our board members include cancer survivors, physicians and other
people committed to the fight against prostate cancer.
• Because most men have not been touched by prostate cancer,
we use the fun and wonder of music and technology to generate
an interest in this important issue. |

Being an effective leader for nonprofit
organization requires a substantial measure of commitment. Being
a volunteer leader, however, requires commitment coupled with
intensity and passion, and ProstAware is incredibly fortunate
to have a group of just such volunteer leaders serving on its
Board of Directors.
Scott Miller, MD, President
Dr. Miller is a practicing urologist in
Atlanta, who devotes a great deal of his work to the treatment
of prostate cancer patients. He founded ProstAware in order
to heighten prostate cancer awareness by using music and technology
as vehicles for propagating this information.
W. Michael Willis, Secretary
Michael Willis is a prostate cancer survivor
since 2008. He has completed nine years with Intel Corporation
as Field Sales Engineer for the Southern United States, bringing
his talents in business and technology to ProstAware. As husband
to Mary, and father to two boys - Aaron, 14 and Ethan, 4 - early
detection and successful treatment allows him to serve his company,
family, church community, and the cause of prostate cancer awareness.
Brian Gunter, Treasurer
Brian Gunter is a prostate cancer survivor
who has been married for nearly 25 years and has three wonderful
children. Brian has been vital to the creative side of forming
ProstAware, despite a very busy career lighting and photographing
feature films (The Pink Panther 2, Sweet Home Alabama, Remember
the Titans, The Mothman Prophecies, October Sky and over 75
more). He is also an avid guitar player and collector.
Christy Andrews
Christy Andrews’ career in nonprofit
management has spanned over 20 years and began with a foundation
in public relations and marketing. Always focused on health
care issues, Christy has served as executive director for The
Wellness Community-Atlanta Northside since 2006. She has appeared
on numerous television shows discussing nonprofit issues including
CNN, and ABC’s Primetime. Her work has also been published
in national nonprofit publications and in Chicken Soup for the
Parent’s Soul.
Frank Critz. MD
Dr. Critz is a well-known radiation oncologist
in Atlanta. He is also founder and Medical Director of Radiotherapy
Clinics of Georgia (RCOG). He has dedicated his career to prostate
cancer treatment, research, and education. This dedication is
matched by his involvement in the Greater Atlanta community.
Pradeep Jolly, MD
Dr. Jolly is a partner with Georgia Cancer
Specialists, and has practiced as a medical oncologist and hematologist
in Atlanta since 1984. He has a special interest in the treatment
of prostate cancer patients.
Michael Marto
Michael Marto is a kidney cancer survivor
who was diagnosed in 2004. His creative, marketing, finance,
and business operations experience make him a perfect match
for ProstAware. Executive Visions, Inc., co-founded by Mr. Marto,
specializes in corporate event planning, production, and project
management. Clients have included McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Harley-Davidson,
Bentley Motors, JCPenney, Bombardier, GE, IBM, Apple Computer,
Warner Music, BellSouth, Nortel, and Holiday Inn Worldwide.
Producing events with the most sought after performing artists
and celebrity entertainers in the world, Mr. Marto routinely
donates his services to charitable organizations such as Ronald
McDonald House Charities, the World Children’s Center,
World Vision, Children’s International and the American
Red Cross.
