Prostate cancer is one of the most devastating conditions affecting men today. According to the American Cancer Society, it is the second most common cancer in American men, and in 2015, an estimated 220,800 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed. With alarming statistics like these, it’s become increasingly important to give the diagnosed and their affected families and friends a way to fight back. Two of Georgia’s leading prostate cancer advocacy non-profit groups have collaborated for this very reason.
The Georgia Prostate Cancer Coalition (GPCC) and ProstAware are both dedicated to saving lives through prostate cancer awareness and education. This year, GPCC and ProstAware have partnered up to literally take the war against prostate cancer to the streets.
